Privacy & Terms

Effective date: 13 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pennywell Art collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit pennywell.art, place an order, contact us or otherwise interact with our services. Pennywell Art is a trading name of Duneiden Limited, the data controller responsible for your personal information.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our website, we may collect your name, billing and delivery address, email and telephone number; order, transaction and personalisation information; account details; messages and customer-service correspondence; marketing preferences; and technical information such as IP address, browser, device and pages viewed, along with cookie and analytics information where permitted. Payments are processed through Shopify and its payment providers, and we do not ordinarily receive or store your complete payment-card number.

How and why we use information

We process personal information to fulfil and deliver orders and provide support (contract); to meet tax, accounting and regulatory duties (legal obligation); to operate, secure and improve the website and prevent fraud (legitimate interests); and to send optional marketing and use non-essential cookies (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

Marketing

We send promotional emails only with an appropriate lawful basis, normally your express consent. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Transactional emails about an order are not marketing.

Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies operate the store, checkout, security and preferences. With your permission we may also use analytics, personalisation or advertising cookies. You can change non-essential cookie preferences through the website controls or your browser.

Sharing your information

We may share information with Shopify, payment and fraud-prevention providers, printing, fulfilment and delivery providers, email and analytics providers, professional advisers, and regulators or authorities where legally required, or a successor if the business is sold. Providers receive only what is reasonably necessary. We do not sell personal information for money.

International transfers

Some providers may process information outside the UK or EEA. Where required, transfers rely on adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or another recognised mechanism.

Data retention

Order, payment and accounting records are generally kept for up to six years; customer-service enquiries for up to two years after closure; account information while active and for a reasonable period afterwards; and marketing information until consent is withdrawn. Information may be kept longer for disputes, legal claims or fraud prevention.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, delete or restrict your information, object to processing or direct marketing, request portability, withdraw consent, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

Our website is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version is published on this page with its effective date.
